Of note, I am able to see clients who reside in the state of Michigan only.
Growing up, I witnessed the compassion and caring my parents displayed toward others. It had an impact on me. I also heard countless stories from those who came through our home (and there were many) of hurting and suffering, often followed by examples of healing and transformation. I was moved by these stories throughout childhood. Knowing I had a pastor’s heart and that I wanted to help others, in my late twenties I pursued a doctorate in clinical psychology. After serving four years in the United States Navy as a clinical psychologist, I established Love & Respect Counseling, P.C., located in Grand Rapids, MI.
A large portion of my private practice is helping individuals and couples with their marriage. I use the Love & Respect principles and other marriage material to help pre-marital couples, people in marital crisis, those that just want to take a fresh look at their relationship, or assisting with a specific issue or season in life. You can read more about my thoughts on the marital counseling process here.
Additionally, based on my time in the military, I have a heart for working with those who served our country and specialize in working with trauma related to military service. If you or someone else you know is experiencing difficulties related to military experiences, please consider Love & Respect Counseling. Read more here.
Finally, as a clinical psychologist I can offer services for a variety of other issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, life transitions, issues around purpose and meaning, and problematic character or personality patterns. I look forward to hearing from you if you reside in Michigan (this is due to licensing laws) and are interested in individual or couples counseling. Please browse my website and contact me through the contact page, whether via email or phone.
